Dan "The Beast" Severn announces retirement from MMA

Former WWE and NWA star Dan "The Beast" Severn announced his retirement from MMA on New Year's Day according to ESPN.com. Severn, who is a member of the UFC Hall of Fame, will still continue to take wrestling booking until the end of 2013. Shore's Slant: Severn actually competed in a UFC fight while NWA World Champion in 1995. His most recent major wrestling appearance was at Final Battle 2011 for ROH, where he served as Eddie Edwards's corner man.
