Dot Net WWE News: WWE main eventer appears to aggravate his injured knee
By Jason Powell Sep 22, 2008 - 11:52 AM

Undertaker appeared to aggravate a knee injury during the dark match main event of the Smackdown tapings in Columbus, Oh. on Sunday. Dot Net correspondent Angela Rhoades reported that Taker was attacked by Zach Ryder, Curt Hawkins, and Bam Neely during his match with Big Show.

After Taker cleared the heels from the ring, he posed for the crowd and walked around for a few minutes. However, he sat down on the ring steps before heading backstage. "Honestly, he looked pretty bad off," Rhoades reports. "He was sitting there like he was so exhausted he couldn't make it up the ramp. He finally walked up the ramp, but he was limping pretty badly. It wasn't a little limp, it was very noticeable."

Powell's POV: It's always possible that Taker was selling an injury, but it seems odd that he did so after playing to the live crowd. As I reported last week, Taker had his knee scoped during his recent layoff and the company has been limiting his in-ring involvement since the Hell in a Cell match.

Taker has been appearing on television in non-wrestling segments and has been working tag matches more often than not when he does get in the ring so that his partner can handle most of the in-ring work. He's told friends that the knee is still tender and that there is some soreness.

By the way, this report was taken from Angela's report on the Smackdown tapings. I figured I'd post it separately for readers who want to avoid spoilers on the actual show. Check the main page for full reports on the Smackdown and ECW tapings.

Are you more likely to watch WWE Smackdown because Vince McMahon is advertised?
Yes. Big things tend to happen when Vince is on the show.
No. Advertising Vince won't change my viewing habits.
I'm actually less likely to watch the show because Vince is advertised.
