WWE News: Either WWE or the McMahons gave $5 million to Donald Trump's charity, but no one is taking credit for it
Oct 25, 2012 - 02:47 PM

In a strange story that plays into both politics and wrestling, WWE is denying the company gave $5 million to the Donald J. Trump Foundation, even though the giving appears on the tax forms filed by the foundation. WWE Spokesman Brian Flinn said, "WWE has not made any donation to the Donald J. Trump Foundation. However, as I understand it, the Vince and Linda McMahon Family Foundation has donated $5 million in total to the Donald J. Trump Foundation." Flinn said WWE would be contacting Trump to fix the error.

When reached for comment, however, Linda McMahon's campaign denied that she and her husband have given to Trump's charity. You can read more at http://blog.sfgate.com/nov05election/2012/10/24/the-donald%E2%80%99s-apprentice/.

Shore's Slant: This is an obvious attempt by McMahon and company to distance themselves from Trump, who continues to taunt President Barack Obama with calls for his birth certificate, and most recently, with calls for his college and passport records. Those sorts of things don't play well in the very blue state of Connecticut.
