Jim Ross wants his prized black hat back, the WWE Raw announcing situation going forward, WWE NXT standouts
Sep 22, 2012 - 12:02 PM |
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights. To order J.R.'s BBQ products, visit WWEShop.com.
-Ross on losing his hat: "I enjoyed being in Boston, for the most part, except forgetting my prized, 200X Resistol hat in an unmarked livery vehicle and not being able to retrieve it. Same hat I wore when inducted into the WWE HOF in 2007 and at several WrestleManias and Monday Night Raws. Hopped in a car at Logan Airport and simply forgot my hat. DAMN...as Ron Simmons would espouse. I know it's a long shot but I'd pay a nice reward if I get my hat back."
Powell's POV: Ross didn't mention how the person who ended up with the hat can contact him, but he's easy enough to reach via his website Q&A section or Twitter. Does he pay in cash or beef jerky? If I had the option, the jerky would be tempting.
-Ross on the WWE Raw announcing situation going forward: "I have no idea who WWE plans to pair with Cole in the weeks leading to Jerry Lawler's expected return to the announce table on RAW but who ever it may be will be receiving a great opportunity for exposure and to enhance their TV persona. JBL's going to be a little busy over the next couple of weeks traveling to Africa and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro."
Powell's POV: I guess this is one of the reasons to watch Raw. I'm curious to see who gets the call to fill in for The King while he recovers. By the way, Ross also addressed his work with Michael Cole and JBL, and noted that Cole handled the Lawler situation better than he could have in his actual blog. Remember, we only run the highlights.
-Ross on a WWE developmental standout: "Bray Wyatt killed it with a promo segment in a persona that may remind some of Waylon Mercy aka Dan Spivey back in the day which was based on the 'Sam Cady' character from 'Cape Fear.' Bray Wyatt looked physically better than I've ever seen him and when the third generation performer gets healthy he's going to have an opportunity to make an impact or so it seems to me."
Powell's POV: Ross ran through a list of NXT wrestlers who stood out at the tapings on Thursday. Wyatt will blow away fans who remember him as Husky Harris and haven't heard him deliver promos. His ring attire looked minor league the last time I saw him perform. Once that's addressed, this guy could make a big splash on the main roster.
Other topics include Michael Cole, JBL, NXT standouts, where you can see Ross on television tonight, and more.
