WWE News: A.W. says he was fired because he showed public support for Linda McMahon
Aug 14, 2012 - 10:00 AM

Former WWE personality A.W. (a/k/a Brian Jossie) told Greenwich Time that he was in the doghouse for making the Kobe Bryant rape joke, but public support of Linda McMahon is what led to his dismissal. He published a "vote for Linda McMahon" tweet and included a "voteordie4Linda" hashtag. "That's how they show support for their employees who want to support Linda," Jossie said. "They fire them. That's complete bullshit."

WWE spokesman Brian Flinn responded. "WWE is a non-partisan organization," he wrote. "Superstars as well as employees are free to support any political party or candidate they choose. Unfortunately, Brian Jossie, playing the character of A.W., was terminated because he continued to exhibit poor judgment by making offensive and inappropriate comments on live television and on social media." Powell's POV: Jossie is trying to portray himself as a victim by claiming that "the way the politics are with her campaign, it screwed me." I don't know if he thinks the rant he's been going on since his dismissal are going to lead WWE to bring him back, but to me it looks like he's burning every bridge there is. The story also states that he was fired by Jane Geddes, who is the VP of talent relations.
