ESPN personality rips C.M. Punk over his comments regarding Jon "Bones" Jones being sponsored by Nike
Aug 9, 2012 - 12:57 PM |
ESPN personality Colin Cowherd was critical of pro wrestling and C.M. Punk due to comments the WWE Champion made regarding Nike's endorsement deal with UFC fighter Jon "Bones" Jones. Dot Net reader Tavares Wall send the following recap of Cowherd's comments.
Cowherd ranted on CM Punk for about 10 minutes. He said the usual, labeling wrestlers roided freaks and said they have no right at all to talk about morals due to the young deaths in the wrestling industry. He also alluded to Owen Hart saying, "A wrestler died in the ring and they just rolled him out and kept going," Cowherd said, Then he began to rundown Punk and his tattoos. All in all, the same bashing he's been doing but aimed directly at CM Punk this time.
Powell's POV: Cowherd has taken a similar approach when talking about pro wrestling and its fans in the past. He's a hell of a radio personality, but I think he goes for shock value with his anti-pro wrestling rants. One can only hope that Cowherd did enough research on Punk to know that he's Straight Edge and therefore doesn't use steroids, alcohol, drugs, etc.
