Former WWE star JBL saw parallels between the Chris Jericho incident in Brazil and his own goose-stepping incident in Germany. "Something few know about 'German incident' with me was that the next day Eddie turned heel and did the same thing," JBL wrote on his Facebook page.

"Eddie and I were very close friends and he thought I shouldn't get any heat off of something that had been done in every wrestling show in Germany for decades-in fact done so much it didn't even get a good response anymore.

"Those that say how bad it was have no clue about wrestling and heels overseas or anywhere else. It happened so often that no one cared anymore in Germany, it was way overdone. It was a different era-that stuff can't happen anymore and for the better. Back then, and it wasn't too long ago, it was different."
