Christian made an unadvertised appearance at the WWE Over The Limit pay-per-view and left the show as the Intercontinental Champion. He won a People Power battle royal to earn a shot at the Intercontinental or U.S. Title. He chose the former, and defeated Cody Rhodes to win the belt during the pay-per-view.


Powell's POV: Christian is apparently a babyface again given the way he was playing to the crowd and was talked about by the announcers. Meanwhile, Cody has had an orchestrated Twitter feud with Santino Marella, so I wouldn't rule out Cody taking the U.S. Title one of these days.
