The Rock profiled on Forbes.com for "saving movie franchises"
May 16, 2012 - 12:43 PM

WWE Superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was profiled on Forbes.com with the emphasis on his movie career, specifically how he has turned around floundering franchises like Fast and Furious, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and (presumably) GI Joe. The story follows Rock from his wrestling days through his early films and today, noting that Rock's films have grossed $2.3 billion worldwide. You can read the whole article at http://www.forbes.com/sites/dorothypomerantz/2012/05/16/the-rock-is-kicking-ass-and-saving-franchises/.

Shore's Slant" Of particular interest in the article is where Rock states he was forced to stop talking about wrestling by his agents, and that the decision to return to his roots included firing those same agents. It's an interesting take for those who still view Rock as someone who turned his back on the business that made him.
