WWE News: More details on the new partnership with NXT tapings home
May 14, 2012 - 04:35 PM |
WWE and Full Sail University issues a press release on Monday to tout their partnership via the university's performance venue serving as the new home for WWE NXT taping. WWE is planning to use students from the school's entertainment-focussed degree program to work behind the scenes. Plus, WWE is creating a new scholarship that will be funded by proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales.
"WWE has always been a leader in creating superstars in front of the camera. Now, with this unique partnership with Full Sail University, WWE will develop stars behind the camera as well," Triple H said. "With the opportunity to host events at Full Sail's top-notch facilities and the chance to tap into Full Sail's greatest resource, its students, we are excited to provide real-world experience while giving us a fresh, creative perspective from ambitious students." You can read more at Corporate.WWE.com.
Powell's POV: The press release also noted that the NXT tapings will be open to students, faculty, and the general public. One Dot Net reader was told that only students (and faculty) would be allowed at the tapings, so it's good to hear that's not the case. We are still looking for correspondents who are attending the sold out tapings on Thursday. If you are going and can help, contact me at dotnetjason@gmail.com.
