WWE News: NASCAR driver shares a fun John Cena story
Feb 24, 2012 - 10:45 AM |
NASCAR Driver Carl Edwards recalled driving race cars with John Cena during an interview with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald. "We were probably going around 150 miles per hour or something like that, and we’re supposed to pull onto pit road, and his job was to stay behind me and follow me onto pit road," Edwards said.
"I pulled onto pit road and slowed down to maybe 60 or 70 miles an hour, and he went by me on pit road, going about 120, 130 miles an hour and went sliding into the pits. He had everybody scared, and he’s laughing like an idiot.
"He said he couldn’t resist passing me. I knew right then he is a true race fan and a true car guy. We hung out a little bit since and kept in touch. He’s a true supporter of our sport and just a good guy.” To read the full interview, visit MiamiHerald.com.
Powell's POV: Edwards also spoke about how he didn't want to leave the ring when he appeared on Raw, the crossover between NASCAR and pro wrestling, and more on his friendship with Cena.
