WWE News: Live event revenue increases due to higher average ticket prices
Feb 23, 2012 - 09:02 AM |
WWE reported earnings of $26.9 million in live event revenue in the fourth quarter of 2011. Revenue was up one percent despite the company running six fewer events in the quarter compared to the prior year quarter.
Powell's POV: The company cited the increase in overall average ticket prices as the main reason they were up in revenue despite the lighter schedule. It's worth nothing that the company also ran five more international events in the fourth quarter of 2011 than they did in 2010, which also helped the numbers. WWE made $14.2 million in revenue from 31 international events, yet the average international attendance decreased by 16 percent from the prior year quarter. The average ticket price for international events was up by 21 cents.
