WWE News: WWE responding more aggressively to attacks from Linda McMahon's opponents
Feb 8, 2012 - 06:19 PM |
In a story from last week, WWE appears to be taking a more aggressive approach to attacks on WWE from Linda McMahon's Senate opponents. The story notes that a recent editorial that featured the line, "Maybe in time Connecticut will consider the pornography and mock violence of the wrestling business from which McMahon draws her fortune to be as legitimate as any other business," was quickly addressed by WWE spokesman Robert Zimmerman who sent a scathing reply to the newspaper and several political reporters in Connecticut. You can read the full story at http://articles.courant.com/2012-02-03/news/hc-wwe-takes-on-chris-powell-20120203_1_wwe-spokesman-robert-zimmerman-powell-journal-inquirer.
Shore's Slant: Good for WWE. You can find wrestling disagreeable to your idea of entertainment, and there are many things you can point to in the Attitude Era to be ashamed of, but to call it "pornography" is a bit of a stretch. And I know. I'm a pornography expert.
