WWE Smackdown Taping
Hershey, Pa.
Thanks to Dot Net reader Irv Deitz
Dark Match
1. Funaki defeated Nic Nemeth.
Smackdown Tapings
1. MVP pinned Jimmy Wang Yang. MVP unleashed a verbal assault on Jeff Hardy, who was sitting at ringside, which led to Hardy attacking him after the match.
Chavo Guerrero pushed Vickie Guerrero's wheelchair backstage. Vickie spotted Alicia Fox talking to Mr. Kennedy, but Bam Neely came out of office before anything could happen.
2. Mr. Kennedy pinned Shelton Benjamin in a non-title match. After the match, Shelton told Eve that he wasn't 100 percent healthy excuse for the loss.
Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder were in the dressing room when Chavo asked them if they know who Edge's special guest on "The Cutting Edge" would be. The tag champs said they don't know.
3. Brian Kendrick (w/Ezekiel) pinned Stevie Richards. After the match, Ezekiel attacked Richards.
Edge was shown arriving at the building.
4. Great Khali beat Jeff Hardy with the vice-grip ref stop hold. MVP interfered and cost Hardy the match.
5. Maria pinned Victoria. This was Maria's Smackdown debut.
Edge was shown talking to Alicia about her being out at ringside during his Cutting Edge segment.
6. Big Show pinned Domino. After the match, Umaga came out for a staredown.
Vickie, Chavo, and Bam were shown in her office trying to figure out who Edge's guest would be.
Edge hosted The Cutting Edge. He talked about beating The Undertaker and seeing him every time he closes his eyes. He asked his special guest, Mick Foley, to help at Summer Slam '08, to exercise his demons from his '98 Hell in a Cell match with Taker.
Foley reminds Edge that if he finds his inner-edge like from there WrestleMania 22 match, his match with Taker could go down as the greatest ever. Edge attacked Foley, spilling outside. Edge kicked a chair into Mick's face and speared him. Edge placed Foley on a table inside the ring, then jumped off a ladder with a side-chair shot through the table. Foley had to be stretchered out.
Post-Show
Edge returned to gloat only to have Vickie tell him he needs to be ready for Summer Slam. She booked him in a no DQ match against Big Show.
1. Big Show defeated Edge via countout in a no DQ dark match. Edge ran backstage and was counted out.
Notes: Overall, a good show. The arena was full arena and there were more matches than I excepted.
