Former WWE wrestler David Hart-Smith looks back on his WWE run and whether he's interested in returning now, shares stories about the New Japan dojo being haunted
Jan 10, 2012 - 05:20 PM |
Former WWE wrestler David Hart Smith appeared on the Major League Wrestling podcast on Monday and expressed disappointment with his WWE run."I think that initially it seemed like there were huge plans," Smith recalled. "I don't know if that was Johnny (Laurinaitis) blowing smoke up my ass or what, but Johnny was always pretty good to me.
"We had a good title run with Tyson Kidd. I was kind of disheartened that more didn't happen with my time in the company. I felt that i certainly had enough talent... It's not exactly in my short-term plans to go back there. We'll put the bookmark in this chapter read on and maybe go back to it sometime. It was definitely hot/cold with the company. When it was good it was good, and when it was bad it was like WWE isn't all it's cracked up to be."
Smith discussed his future in pro wrestling and MMA, training at the haunted New Japan dojo, being mentored by Bret Hart and his return to the company, shadiness in WWE, the logic behind using the name Harry Smith, training with Batista, and looks back on cramming for high school exams during his MLW tours. You can listen to the full podcast at MLW.com.
Powell's POV: The free podcast is hosted by Mister Saint Laurent and runs over 50 minutes in length. Smith's story regarding the New Japan Dojo is that people claim to have seen ghosts and spinning clocks. He recalled having a horrible nightmare and thinking he saw someone who wasn't actually there when he woke up. He said legend has it that the original owner of the building was killed and there were some accidental deaths in the dojo shortly after it opened. Sounds like a case for the guys from Ghost Hunters (no, not that douche from "Ghost Adventures" on Travel Channel).
