Jim Ross shares his holiday wishes for Daniel Bryan, says Jerry Lawler and Booker would rather be wrestling for WWE, what he knows about WWE Network
Dec 23, 2011 - 11:20 AM

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights. To order J.R.'s BBQ products, visit WWEShop.com.

-Ross on Daniel Bryan: "That Daniel Bryan gets plenty of positive, TV time and a legit opportunity to show all involved what the hard working veteran can do from bell to bell. Personally, I find any 'size arguments' regarding the new, World Champion to be near sighted and outdated. Plus, Bryan being verbally thrashed for being a vegan or a 'hypocrite' for cashing in the MITB contract earlier than WM28 has run its course.  The consumers will determine if Bryan is a hit or a miss."

Powell's POV: The fear continues to be that Bryan will get a push similar to the half hearted one that Rey Mysterio received when he won the title for the first time. Here's hoping Ross is right about this one.

-Ross on Jerry Lawler and Booker T: "I'd love to see Jerry Lawler be able to wrestle more on WWE TV. Performing with Jerry would help so many younger talents as I felt King's work in 2011 with Miz was extremely helpful for Miz. If King were told tomorrow that he would no long broadcast Raw but would instead be used in the ring, he would love it. (Same goes for Booker T wrestling younger talents.)"

Powell's POV: Wait, Booker would rather be wrestling against younger talent than working as a color commentator? Make it happen permanently, WWE. Meanwhile, Lawler continues to work an active indy schedule on the weekends in addition to his WWE duties.

-Ross on WWE Network: "If I knew more about the WWE Network I would share that info. I don't know where it will be available including Canada, UK, etc. I don't know the programming ideas that are firm or that are simply being discussed. I'm not aware of the costs involved or if it will be available via satellite IE DirectTV. Furthermore, I'd guess that many within WWE who are working on this major project don't know the answers to all your questions either as things are evolving seemingly by the minute. All I can say is be patient and stay tuned. The WWE Network can certainly be of huge impact and a game changer."

Powell's POV: Ross doesn't have the details on those issues because WWE officials don't have the details. How scary is that with the network just over four months away from Vince McMahon's target launch date of April 1? No, that's not a joke.
