Referee Earl Hebner comments on Bret Hart and his role in the Montreal incident, says he wouldn't do it again
Jul 9, 2008 - 03:06 PM |
TNA referee Earl Hebner issued rare comments on Bret Hart and the Montreal incident during an interview with the UK Sun. "I love Bret Hart to death," Hebner said. "It was something I was asked to do. Told to do, in fact. If it was today, I would never do it...
"I did the bad things to get the jobs done because some of the other refs didn’t want to do it or didn’t know how to do it. You've got to be a team player. If I’d have known then how I was going to be treated later in my career with WWE, I never would have done it. But at the time I didn’t know. It’s all hindsight." To read the full interview, visit the UK Sun.
Powell’s POV: I'm not surprised that Hebner said he wouldn't screw Bret again. After all, he had a falling out with WWE and obviously isn't as loyal to Vince McMahon as he was back in those days. Hebner touched on a number of topics in the interview and it's a good read.
