He has a football background, including a stint in Vince McMahon's defunct XFL. He has been working in Florida Championship Wrestling (the current WWE developmental home) as Atlas DaBone. I wasn't blown away by his performance, but I'm sure WWE officials like Ortiz's size. I'm happy they changed his last name if for no other reason than this paragraph would read differently if he still went by DaBone.
