Jim Ross comments on WWE Hall of Famers Steve Austin and Roddy Piper, R-Truth's recent work, and The Miz

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.
-Ross on Steve Austin and Roddy Piper: "(Austin and Piper) were the two highlights for this old schooler on Monday's Raw. They both know how to fully command an audience and still have 'it.' Austin can be so intense that it bleeds through the TV screen. His Clint Eastwood-esque delivered line to CM Punk...."punk" was golden. @CMPunk and Austin have excellent on screen chemistry and back in the day they would have had a helluva run. Nothing but money."
Powell's POV: I enjoyed Austin more than Piper last night, but that's just me. The Eastwood line was a gem, and Austin and C.M. Punk have real chemistry. I'd love to see them work a real program together, but that's probably just wishful thinking given that Austin has retired from in-ring work.
-Ross on R-Truth: "R-Truth' s professional career has never been more elevated. He fits the role that he's in well and it would not shock me to see, by hook or crook, R-Truth upset John Cena this Sunday on PPV to win the WWE Title. Long shot? Perhaps....but stranger things have occurred on a WWE PPV and no one can argue that a Truth title win wouldn't 're-shuffle the deck.'"
Powell's POV: R-Truth has been a compelling enough character that I'd love to see him get the win and then hold the title until perhaps a showdown with Cena at SummerSlam. Sure, I'd like to see a longer Truth title reign, but I'm also realistic. Will Truth win the strap on Sunday? Seeing is believing, but I would love to see WWE shake things up because Cena doesn't need the title belt to be the biggest star in the company.
-Ross on The Miz: "(The Miz) is so easy to dislike which is a marketable necessity for any villain. Guys that can talk as well as Miz, who I Tweeted reminded me of a male Kardashian, are essentially Teflon coated. Essentially no matter what occurs in the ring, more often than not, they are right back to where they need to be when provided the opportunity to speak."
Powell's POV: I made a similar point about Miz being teflon in my audio review today. While he can always get his heat back on the mic, I wish the company would do more to establish him as a credible wrestler who doesn't have to cheat to beat some of the top performers in the company.
Other topics include Kevin Nash, Alicia Fox, Booker T on commentary, top 25 WWE managers, a J.R. pet peeve, and more.
