Vince McMahon claims he doesn't consider UFC a threat to WWE
Jun 21, 2008 - 10:35 PM |
Vince McMahon says he doesn't consider UFC a threat to WWE. "We don't compete," he told CNBC.com. "We're entertainment. They are boxing. They've hurt us at all." To check out the full interview, visit CNBC.com.
Powell’s POV: What a crock. If a person has $40 or $50 to spend on pay-per-view each month and they are a fan of both products, then obviously they may choose to spend their money on the UFC product.
I'm sure there are some wrestling fans who also like boxing, but I think there is more of a wrestling/MMA crossover. Vince's line might sound good to the most naive WWE shareholders, but I think it makes Vince come across to the rest of the world like he's in denial.
