WWE News: Senator that defeated Linda McMahon says he is working on "worker misclassification"
Apr 23, 2011 - 11:37 AM

Newstimes.com is reporting that Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal is supporting legislation in Washington that cracks down on "worker misclassification," the practice of classifying employees as contractors or part-time in order to prevent paying wages, benefits and taxes. The subject was a contentious point during the campaign between Blumenthal and former WWE CEO Linda McMahon when it was revealed that WWE was under investigation by Connecticut for possible violations.

Shore's Slant: Whatever your feelings about how WWE should classify their workers, I can assure you that a new law isn’t the best answer. With the way laws are written now, the law will probably end up costing thousands of part-time employees their jobs because businesses won't be able to afford the new requirements.
