A Charlie Sheen or Jim Ross shoot interview? Ross also comments on Steve Austin appearing on WWE Raw, and the special referee of the Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole match at WrestleMania 27
Mar 7, 2011 - 06:01 PM |
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.
-Ross on Charlie Sheen and shoot interviews: "OK, so Charlie Sheen got future endeavored. Surprised? Me, neither. Chuck needs help and is in deep denial. I've seen it w/ wrestlers more times than I like to remember. What's next for Sheen. Rehab or a 'shoot' interview? An emailer asked me if I would ever do a 'shoot' interview? I've been approached several times but the money, motivation, and everything else about them doesn't work for me at this stage of my life. Why sell my stories for a ham and egger payday when I can write my own book and tell the story as I see fit and not how someone else wants to edit and market it?"
Powell's POV: Nope, it wouldn't make much sense for Ross. That said, I'll be happy to conduct a shoot interview with J.R. if he ever goes through a "winning" phase and loses his marbles. Hell, I'll even conduct a shoot interview Charlie Sheen. I feel like I'm one of the only people has hasn't spoken with. Tiger Blood!
-Ross on "Huge Raw tonight on USA live from Dallas which should see the American Airline Center near capacity. Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his return and I know that the Texas Rattlesnake is excited about Tough Enough and whatever else might be on his mind for tonight's live Raw. I'd love to hear what Austin has to say regarding the John Cena/Rock/Miz issue among other matters leading into WM27."
Powell's POV: Austin's return to Raw hasn't received nearly enough hype from the company as far as I'm concerned. Nevertheless, Austin is one of my favorite performers of all-time, and it should be a blast to see him back on Raw.
-Ross on tonight's Raw "I'm very anxious to see who Michael Cole picks to be his special referee for WM27. I assume Cole will want some one from his own, unique 'political affiliation' for the all important role for Cole's WM27 bout with the King. For those that think Cole would select me need to put down the pipe and refrain from drinking the bong water. I'm the LAST guy Cole wants to see back on TV in any form. Trust me."
Powell's POV: Lots of rumors that Austin will be the guest referee. If so, I am curious to see how they get there from a storyline standpoint given that Cole gets to pick the referee.
Other topics include the UWF tape library, the big celebrity who is addicted to J.R.'s beef jerky, WWE Tough Enough season five changes, and reputable pro wrestling schools.
