WWE News: WWE expands television into Brazil
Feb 23, 2011 - 12:40 PM |
The Sun Herald reported today that WWE will bring Monday Night Raw to Brazil's largest sports network, Esporte Interativo, starting in March. The agreement will create over 33 million potential viewers for Raw and continue their expansion into Latin and South America.
Shore's Slant: Big win here for WWE. They have made no secret about their desire to expand south of the border as far as they can. Brazil is of particular interest because of the country's effect on MMA as many of the best fighters in the world come from there. It will be interesting to see if the sanitized and wholesome nature of WWE will catch on in a place were blood sports like MMA thrive.
