9/14 WWE Smackdown taping: Full coverage of the taping for Friday's television show (spoilers)
Sep 14, 2010 - 08:55 PM

Dot Net readers Steve Norman and Scottie C. are at the WWE Smackdown tapings and passed along separate reports that are being combined into the single report below.

Christian hosted The Peep Show with special guest Alberto Del Rio. Christian challenged Del Rio to a match at NOC. Del Rio declined. Christian slapped him, Del Rio again declined.

1. Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre over The Hart Dynasty in a non-title match. Rhodes pinned David Hart Smith with the CrossRhodes. A good TV match. The Harts left with the gold, so they were likely setting up a match for Night of Champions, but no official announcement was made.

Kofi Kingston cut a promo on Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler. He said Ziggler is only the Intercontinental Champion because of Vickie. He ran through the Night of Champions stipulations for their match to establish that Dolph will lose the title if he is counted out or disqualified. Jack Swagger's music played. He was backstage with Dolph, Vickie, Chavo Guerrero, and Kaitlyn.

2. Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger. Swagger applied the ankle lock, but Kofi got to the ropes. Kofi blocked a Swagger Bomb and won with Trouble in Paradise. A nice, long television match.

They aired a repeat commercial that stated Kane will answer the Undertaker. He must be responding to Taker's promo from last week.

A recap of Teddy Long and Hornswoggle from two weeks ago was shown. Hornswoggle was shown at a Catholic school being taught to talk. Long sat in while a nun taught Horny the basics. Hornswoggle stole Long's notes, drawing praise from the nun. Horny's drawing was given to Long, which was a devil. Horny then framed Long with a paper airplane. When the nun went to slap Long's knuckles with a ruler, Horny indicated he did it. Horny stopped it and went bonkers. The nun said he needed an exorcism. As bad as it sounds.

3. LayCool defeated Kelly Kelly and Rosa Mendes. Layla got the pin for her team. Steve says Chris Shore will love it (not really).

Laycool cut a promo with Kaval. They drew a name out of hat to determine Melina's opponent. Kaval drew McCool. Layla was pissed and Kaval revealed all the names said Michelle in the hat. It was rigged! Layla said McCool would be alone on Sunday.

4. C.M. Punk pinned Christian. Alberto Del Rio sat in on commentary. Del Rio distracted Christian by taking the mic and saying "after reconsidering" (regarding the NOC challenge), Punk then hit the GTS and scored the pin. Del Rio said his answer was no and entered the ring with a chair. Big Show made the save, Del Rio bailed and Show knocked out Punk with the big right hand.

Kane cut a promo for NOC promising a different ending this time. Kane claimed to have Undertaker's powers and that he will end the plot he's had for 13 years. Kane said he wanted a no holds barred match and that on Sunday, Undertaker would rest in peace at the hands of the devils favorite.

Undertaker gong, flames and the Undertaker appeared to a big pop and standing ovation. The lights went out, Kane attacked taker from behind. The two brawled with Kane having the upper hand. Kane hit a chokeslam and tombstone. He then struck the Undertaker pose with the Kane in-ring pyro. The television show will end there.

Dark Match

1. Undertaker beat Kane via countout. Kane returned for the dark match main event. He did the ring intros while Taker recovered. Taker chokeslammed Kane, who later bailed, taking the countout loss.
