Dot Net Exclusive: Jonathan Coachman and ESPN update
By Jason Powell May 13, 2008 - 10:51 AM

Jonathan Coachman has met with ESPN officials as previously reported by other websites. However, he has not signed a contract nor has he officially accepted the position. A well-placed source reports that negotiations between the two sides are ongoing and a deal appears to be imminent.

Powell's POV: Coachman is getting good reviews for his work at MSG Network and they don't want to lose him, but it sounds like Coach is headed to Bristol barring a snag in negotiations. Good for Coach. He's taken plenty of heat for his work as a WWE announcer, but he's very good at sports broadcasting. If nothing else, Coach's success in mainstream sports is further proof that calling pro wrestling matches is a different animal that requires unique skills.
