WWE's Rey Mysterio was touring China when the earthquake struck this morning
May 12, 2008 - 04:26 PM

Rey Mysterio and his wife Angie are on a media tour of China for WWE this week and were caught up in the earthquake that registered a 7.9 on the Richter scale. WWE.com notes that Mysterio and his wife were unharmed by the earthquake. However, the building in Xian where Mysterio was appearing had to be evacuated, and the couple was moved to the first floor of their hotel as a safety precaution. To read the full story, visit WWE.com.

Powell’s POV: I'm not an expert in Chinese geography, but the fact that the building had to be evacuated suggests that this was a reasonably close call for Mysterio and his wife. The story notes that they are going to continue their tour despite the earthquake.
