WWE Superstars Hits
William Regal vs. Goldust: This was unanimously the best match of the night because these are two veterans who were strong secondary champions back in the day. If they had been booked better, they could have been world champions. For example, if Regal was dinged with the wellness violation a couple of years ago, he could've been a world champion by now because he was getting a mega push. Now he is reduced to Superstars and/or comedy matches on Raw. It's sad because he is one of the most talented guys on the roster. Regal being older doesn't do any favors either. As for Goldust, he still can put on a hell of a match, but he's like Chavo Guerrero…an older enhancement worker that is used to put young guys over and the gimmick will never make him world champion worthy anyway.
The Dudebusters vs. The Gatecrashers: I thought I would never put the Dudebusters in my "hits" section, but their matches have gotten progressively better. Face it, these guys can wrestle and if WWE took time to focus on tag teams, they could make some money for this company. Archer and Hawkins are a much underrated team and I won't be surprised if they face The Hart Dynasty at Night of Champions because they deserve a title shot. The match itself could've been longer because five minutes is simply not enough for these teams.
Drew McIntyre vs. Chris Masters: This match was an minor hit because Drew McIntyre has the talent and the heat to be an major player in the WWE for years to come. The problem is that he was strongly pushed too early in his career and now he's in mid-card hell and wrestling on Superstars. Hopefully this doesn't become an regular deal, but Drew needs to be in a regular program to maintain his heat instead of wrestling jobbers like Masters for fifteen minutes. The match was okay, but Masters shouldn't have all that mass and basically job every week. It makes no sense to me.
WWE Superstars Misses
Nothing: This is usually the throwaway power hour of the week, but we got three good matches with two veterans, two young tag teams, and decent main event. No, the Icy Hot fumes have not gotten inside my head, but I saw nothing wrong with this show to warrant an miss.
