8/17 WWE Superstars taping: Detailed report on the taping for Thursday's WGN America television show (spoilers)
Aug 18, 2010 - 11:53 AM

Dot Net reader Edwin Fastnacht attended the WWE Smackdown taping on Tuesday in California and passed along the following report on the WWE Superstars taping.

Dark Match

1. Tyler Reks defeated Trent Baretta via pinfall. The match took place before the live NXT show. I didn't realize Reks was still with WWE. Trent Baretta oddly got a face reaction. Baretta hit a BME on a standing Reks for a nice pop and nearfall. Reks hit an inverted Attitude Adjustment for the win.

Just wanted to note that the crowd was hot for the end of NXT. I don't think this showed on TV but after the stare down, Husky attacked Zack Ryder. Kofi and MVP seemed like they were going to get into it, but then realized it was Zack Ryder and didn't. Funny.

WWE Superstars

1. MVP and Vance Archer (w/Curt Hawkins) ended in a no contest. Solid pop for MVP. MVP got knocked ringside and while the ref was keeping Archer away, Hawkins started beating on MVP. JTG came down to make the save and a brawl began. Teddy Long came out and made it a tag match.

2. Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins defeated MVP and JTG via pinfall. This match provided plenty of botches (with WWE's resident botch specialist, JTG). One horrible botch occurred when Archer was going to whip Hawkins into MVP in the corner but MVP had moved onto the mat and the heels were lost in confusion. Archer and Hawkins hit a powerslam/suplex team move on JTG for the win.

3. Jack Swagger defeated Chris Masters via submission. Swagger came out to decent heat. Masters tried for the Master Lock but Swagger ran him into the corner. Swagger countered into the Ankle Lock and made Masters tap.
