WWE's Gregory Helms comments on the incident that led to him filing assault charges against a bar patron
May 8, 2008 - 09:40 PM |
|
Gregory Helms issued his first comments since he filed assault charges on a man who punched him in a bar. “Just a quick note to let everyone know I'm fine. I hate when my name is attached to such retardedness (is that even a word) but sometimes, no matter how hard one tries, trouble can find it's way to you. Kinda like how bugs are drawn to a light. After breaking my neck and losing my mom in the same year, the last thing I need to happen is to be arrested for beating up some chumpstain in a bar fight...
"Important note here, he only swung when he saw I was being held. We got a name for that where I come from, it starts with a "B" and rhymes with bitch! Hell, he's lucky Velvet Sky (Helms's girlfriend) didn't get a hold of him, as mad as she was, I'd bet a year's salary that she woulda beat him down." To read the full interview, click here. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Nav Ghali]
Powell's POV: A broken neck and losing a parent in the same year? Poor guy. I'm happy he kept his cool and didn't add to his problems. By the way, he offered no timetable for his return to the ring. It's been nearly a year since his neck surgery, so I assume he'll be back sooner rather than later.
