Dot Net Exclusive: Mike Adamle's attitude, plus his actions backstage after "walking out" during the ECW broadcast
May 5, 2008 - 12:43 PM

Mike Adamle hasn't shown many signs backstage that the criticism for his on-air performances is getting to him thus far. Observers say he knows he's been cast in the clown role and he's been playing into it. He has been making more mistakes during than make the air, as he repeats lines during breaks that are then edited into the broadcast.

As for walking off during ECW last week, the word from those around the gorilla position is that Vince McMahon told Adamle to put down his headsets and leave the announcers' desk. Once Adamle returned backstage, he stood around and waited to talk to Vince for a couple of minutes, but McMahon ignored him until he went away.

Powell's POV: The consensus opinion of the people I've spoken with is that Adamle wasn't informed ahead of time that he was going to walk off during the show. However, just about everyone believes Vince planned it ahead of time and this was more than just a knee jerk reaction. Nevertheless, he did not address the matter with many people before or after the show.
