WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross comments on Chris Jericho not being welcomed in the WWE locker room, his interest in doing a shoot interview, and Matt Striker turning heel
May 2, 2010 - 04:09 PM

By Rich Twilling

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on Chris Jericho first arriving in WWE: "No...Chris Jericho was not welcomed with open arms in the WWE locker room when he first arrived from WCW. Some thought that Jericho was too short/small to be a big time player but Chris has long proved those naysayers wrong."

Twill's Two Cents: Jericho's first appearance on Raw is still one of the best moments in the history of the show. After a short feud with the Road Dogg, Jericho became a major player in WWE.

-Ross on doing a shoot interview: "No...I have not 'reconsidered' doing a 'shoot interview' for the sole purpose of throwing people who I've worked with under a bus. I don't need a payday that badly to compromise my character to make associates past and present look bad and to make others money off my stories that I choose to tell."

Twill's Two Cents: I'm sure Ross would have some very interesting stories to tell, but I completely respect his stance on this. Things could be different for him, but he has decided to focus on the positives of his life and career.

-Ross on Matt Striker: "Yes...Matt Striker is trying to be edgy or antagonistic from what I gather when he works with Cole and Lawler and I don't think that's a bad thing. Some emailers have issues with things Striker has said but if those things sting then perhaps Striker is doing his job."

Twill's Two Cents: I actually enjoyed Striker's original announcer character to the one he plays now. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but his heel tendencies on the stick just don't click with me as of yet.

-Other topics include Tony Atlas being released, whether Ross thinks NXT will be back for season two, and comments on an angry email from a Chyna fan.
