Dot Net Exclusive: Update on WWE Smackdown and ECW creative situations
Apr 23, 2008 - 10:29 AM |
With Michael Hayes serving a 60-day suspension, Ed Koskey has been filling in as the lead writer for Smackdown. Meanwhile, Chris DeJoseph is heading up the writing for the ECW show.
Powell's POV: ECW was the show that nobody wanted, according to multiple sources. It's viewed as the modern day version of WWE Heat in that it's a second-tier show. The writers are very restricted when it comes to how much they can do on ECW, as the company wants to save the big angles for Raw and Smackdown. Due to these restrictions, most writers feel like it's a thankless job in that there's not much they can do to command attention and praise for their hard work.
