WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on whether it bothers him that he is unlikely to return to weekly WWE TV: "I do not perceive this development to likely not return to weekly TV broadcasting to be a negative one as a new schedule simply makes it easier on me travel wise and will hopefully help me keep lingering health issues in check. My goal is and has always been to help 'the team' which means WWE as a whole. I've been fortunate to have had many years of positive experiences in several different, key areas where we have earned varying levels of success. I can still contribute in many of those areas or other platforms. Those plans are still being formulated but I am on board, in theory, and look forward to new responsibilities and challenges."

Powell's POV: Although Ross's short-term contract extension with the company expires soon, it sounds like he'll be staying with the company even though he hasn't indicated that a contractual agreement has been made. As much as I'd like to hear J.R. call Raw every week, if he's happy, then fans of his work should also be happy.

-Ross on whether he'll be at WrestleMania 26: "I have every intention of being at WM26 and if that is to simply spend time with my wife and friends and enjoy the weekend as a fan then I'm perfectly fine with that. For a life long, wrestling aficionado to be able to enjoy an event of this magnitude highlighted by so many historically significant wrestling matches sounds like a great weekend to me. However, and perhaps egocentrically, I will say that if called upon to broadcast a match or two I intend on kicking some commentating ass. I'm just saying."

Powell's POV: It would be a shame if J.R. doesn't call the Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels match. None of the current WWE announcers can come close to conveying the emotion of the match like Ross would be able to. Plus, it would be a true WrestleMania moment if Ross made his triumphant return on the big stage.

-Ross on WWE hiring Dennis Condrey: "Really smart hire by WWE to bring Dennis Condrey on board to help train prospects in FCW. Condrey is an old schooler who throughly understands the psychology of being a great performer and was one of the most fundamentally sound wrestlers that I was ever around. I hope that the young people in Tampa realize just how lucky that they are that they have been given an opportunity to learn under Dennis, among others already in the system."

Powell's POV: For younger readers, Condrey is best known for his work with the legendary Midnight Express tag team. He's a true legend and it's good to hear that he's now in the WWE fold. By the way, I get a kick out of the fact that Condrey will be working with former Fabulous One Steve Keirn, who is the former tag team partner of Stan Lane, who replaced Condrey in the Midnight Express.
