WWE Superstars Hits

MVP and Christian vs. Carlito and Chavo: This was the best match on the show (which isn’t saying much). But even amongst all the garbage, these four guys managed to entertain me. The pairings, as is the current norm, made little sense. I know MVP and Christian are both in MITB, but this did nothing to make me want to see that match. And Chavo and Carlito are Latino heels…I guess. A good way to close an awful show.

WWE Superstars Misses

Mike Knox vs. Goldust: I’ll ask it again since nobody answered last night. How in the hell does the 300 lb guy who hits a drop kick and cross body lose to a fat act from the 90s? OK, Dustin has lost some weight, but he should not be going over Knox. Knox should be a main eventer right now. His crazy promo voice creeps the hell out of me, his in ring skills are sick, and have you seen the beard? I will never understand why Knox is a jobber. Never.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Shelton Benjamin: Marv sent me the following after this match: “Shelton Benjamin was just buried. That is all.” I can’t argue against that here. My hope is Ziggler felt like he had hurt something and so they cut this short, but then I don’t understand kicking out of the Zig Zag. Whatever it was, this match killed Benjamin and did little to nothing for Ziggler.

Zack Ryder vs. Santino Marella: So “who, who, who” beat Santino Marella, the resident clown, after his woman distracted the ref? Wow, he looks strong out of that match doesn’t he? Ryder deserves better if they believe he can be a star, or to be cut if they don’t. This was just another match that did nothing for anyone involved.

Overall Show: Before the hate mail begins, let me explain why I am shitting all over this show. I understand this is the “P” show, but that doesn’t mean you dump names in a hat, pick two people, and tell them they have three minutes of ring time. There has to be some logic on how these matches play out, and we had none in the first half hour. This may have been the worst Superstars hour ever. If not for the main event, it would have been.
