Colt Cabana says his WWE stint as Scotty Goldman was "upsetting and ignorant," says he wishes he could have been part of the NXT show
Mar 11, 2010 - 11:47 AM

Colt Cabana told the UK Sun that he's disappointed by his WWE run. "It was almost like there were two different types of people in WWE," Cabana recalled. "There was the people who knew who I was, and the people who had no clue who I was. The people who knew who I was were the ones that liked me doing commentary, were the ones who fought to get me my own Internet show. I was never able to develop as a wrestler or a person. It was upsetting and ignorant."

Cabana said he wishes he could have been part of the NXT concept. "Timing is everything," he said. "I think that show was made for me. I think I would have been on that list. A guy like Heath Slater who has been around there forever, they are constantly giving him darks [tryout matches] and bringing him up and they don't what to do with him.

"It's a perfect scenario for these guys they don't know what to do with. Just let them go on TV and be themselves. A little bit of me is like 'man, what I could do with that'." To check out more quotes and for a link to the full audio interview, visit the UK Sun. [Thanks to Dan Burke]

Powell's POV: I never understood why WWE didn't make an honest effort to get Cabana over, and I agree that he would have been a great fit on the NXT show. I also felt he would have been a good fit in ECW. For instance, as I've written before, he could have gotten so much more out of the character that WWE had Ricky Ortiz playing. Here's hoping WWE officials consider Cabana for future NXT seasons.
