Paul Heyman says Vince McMahon wants viewers to dislike Mike Adamle
Apr 18, 2008 - 10:35 AM

Paul Heyman is the latest person to rip Mike Adamle's play-by-play debut. However, he also stated in his UK Sun blog that Vince McMahon will love the strong reaction to ECW's newest announcer. "Adamle is horrible," Heyman writes. No one likes him. People at home actually loathe his presence on the show. And that's exactly the sort of passional response Vince McMahon is looking for!!!

"Do you really think Vince doesn't realise how incompetent this tra-la-la-goon-de-yay of an announcer is? The ECW show from the UK was taped. That means there was time for Adamle to grab a mic backstage and clean up the performance. Not the whole miserable, horrible, intolerable hour. Just the really obvious "branding" issues, like all three letters that identify World Wrestling Entertainment. Hey, that would be a start, don't you think?...

"Vince McMahon is not only keenly aware of just how bad Mike Adamle is, he's counting on it. That's why there was no editing done to clean up Adamle's embarrassingly bad performance." To read the full article, click here.

Powell's POV: Heyman believes Vince's mindset is that Adamle is so awful that "people will never be able to turn the dial." He could be right. As I've said before, I think there will be plenty of people tuning in for ECW next week just to see if Adamle is as bad as they keep hearing he was.
