Eric Bischoff questions whether Bret Hart can wrestle an unrestricted match at WrestleMania 26 due to legal issues
Mar 4, 2010 - 09:30 AM

Eric Bischoff questioned whether Bret Hart's past insurance policy will be an issue that affects his WrestleMania 26 match with Vince McMahon. "Allegedly WWE found out about a Lloyds of London (insurance) policy that Bret had in effect AFTER setting up this match, and as a result Lloyds of London has to approve of the physical structure of the match," Bischoff wrote in response to a fan question.

"Can't confirm this, and perhaps WWE has 'bought out' the problem, but if not..could be disappointing. Either way, I am looking forward to it and am happy for Bret. Going back to WWE in any capacity was the right thing for him to do at this stage of his life." To read more from Bischoff, visit his Facebook Page. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Otto Heuer]

Powell's POV: Hart wrote in his book that he cashed in on his insurance policy after being put through the wringer by a suspicious doctor. Hart was understandably frustrated by the doctor's attitude throughout the evaluation process. A Dot Net member recently asked whether this would be an issue and I simply assumed it had been resolved, as it would be embarrassing for WWE to go with all this buildup only to find out that the insurance policy prevent them from doing certain things. That said, I don't expect Hart to take many chances at WrestleMania due to the stroke he suffered.
