Edge Hype Video: Even though Edge is a well established star, he has been out for a considerable time, and they didn’t do the normal build for an injury return. Edge may not have needed this spot for most fans, but if anybody had just started watching in the last six months, they benefited from this. Excellent video, as always, from the production team.

Evan Bourne vs. Carlito: A fun match that wasn’t the spot fest I expected. My only down on this is that it gives false hope that Bourne will be a star one day. There’s only enough room for one small wrestler in Vince’s world, and Rey Mysterio holds that spot. Still, maybe they are grooming Evan for the spot while Mysterio has knee surgery after Mania. Either way, it was still nice to see Bourne and Carlito.

John Morrison, Matt Hardy, and Great Khali vs. The Hart Dynasty and Drew McIntyre: Yes, it was a throwaway match, but so what? Superstars is a wrestling show, and they had a wrestling match. Khali is a joke, but he was used sparingly, and the live crowd had a good time which always helps. I just wish The Harts and John Morrison were better used as a general rule. Overall though, a nice way to end the show.

Overall Show: After dropping a deuce to open, this show rebounded nicely and ended up a decent show. Nothing noteworthy in the show, just the NXT commercial, but a good way to spend an hour. Or at least 45 minutes.

WWE Smackdown Misses

Alicia Fox and Katie Lea Burchill vs. Kelly Kelly and Eve: Slow movement, botchy spots, weak characters, and no story. Those were the best things about this match. I have seen some bad matches, but this one was awful. It was almost too dreadful to watch, but I took one for the team. Katie Lea is uninspired, and she’s the only one in that group that can really wrestle. Let’s hope we don’t have to go through that ever again.
