WWE Notes: Hillary Clinton camp responds to Raw invitation, Jim Ross featured
Apr 13, 2008 - 02:08 PM

-A spokesperson for Hillary Clinton joked when asked about WWE inviting her and Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to settle their differences inside the wrestling ring. "I would typically use this occasion to reiterate our bowling challenge," the spokesperson told CBSNews.com. "But given how well that worked out, I'm thinking sports challenges might not be the way to go here." To read the full story, visit CBSNews.com.

-Jim Ross is featured in the April 2008 issue of Sooners Spectator. The story runs through J.R.'s history in broadcasting and focusses on his passing for Oklahoma football. "It's a passion," Ross says. "It's in my blood. The origin of my fascination of OU football specifically, and the University of Oklahoma, in general, was instilled in me when I was three or four years-old. I learned to read by scouring the sports pages of the Tulsa World and Muskogee Phoenix when I was a little boy." To read the full article, visit JRsbarbq.com.

Powell's POV: More publicity for WWE. You know they're just praying that one of the camps will respond directly do the invitation in a manner that works their name into the quote. No such luck in this case.

I can relate to J.R.'s story. I developed my reading skills due to my passion for the Minnesota Vikings, the old North Stars franchise, and pro wrestling. Honestly, if it wasn't for the Vikings, Stars, and the Pro Wrestling Illustrated series of magazines, I might be illiterate and living under a bridge somewhere. Instead, I can read good and stuff, and I live under a bridge that's located near a coffee shop with free internet access. Life is great!
