William Regal said he wants to be more involved as a wrestler after winning King of the Ring tournament. "Of course I want to be involved more in a wrestling capacity, that’s why I’m in the shape I’m in," Regal told the UK Sun. “Next I want to be world champion, I really do.
"Being general manager is a great spot—as it means I’m on the show—but I’m not ready to take a back seat. I wrestle on house shows all the time, and on TV I’ve had some decent outings, but now I’ve got the chance I’m going to be all over it... I’m always jumping all over Vince McMahon to let me wrestle more. He can’t stand the sight of me!" To read the full interview, visit the UK Sun.
Powell's POV: Regal also commented on Ric Flair selecting him to be his final opponent in Japan, the advice he gave ROH's Nigel McGuinness, and some of the younger wrestlers he enjoys watching. It's a very good interview and it's obvious that he's very passionate about wrestling and watches more than just the WWE product.
