Director Darren Aronofsky commented during an NPR interview on WWE Chairman Vince McMahon's feelings on The Wrestler. "Vince McMahon saw the film and he called both me and Mickey (Rourke) and he was really, really touched by it," Aronofsky said. "It happened a week ago. We were very nervous wondering what he would think, but he really, really felt the film was special. Having his support meant a lot to us, especially Mickey." Powell's POV: I'm not sure where the story that Vince hated the movie came from, but it has been making the rounds online for weeks. Keep in mind that it's possible he told Aronofsky one thing and complained to others. It's also possible that he changed his tune when he decided to jump on the Oscar bandwagon by bringing in Rourke for a WrestleMania 25 appearance.
