Jeff Hardy's WWE contract expires within the next two-to-four months and the company has yet to re-sign him to a new deal, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. The company has gone so far as to offer him a one-year deal in hopes of keeping him under contract while they negotiate a longer deal, but Hardy has yet to sign.
Powell's POV: Very interesting development. Hardy is clearly one of the top stars on the Smackdown brand and the roster would be even more depleted without him. He's worked through some nagging injuries recently and might simply be ready for a break from the ring. The company will still go all out to re-sign him, but Jeff has always marched to the beat of his own drum and he might not be as concerned with the financial aspects of the deal as other wrestlers would be.
