WWE star backs away from previous claim that he was suffering from the swine flu

WWE wrestler Shad Gaspard posted a message on his Twitter page on Saturday night claiming that he had recovered from the swine flu. He later stated that he was joking and had merely been ill. You can check out more tweets from Shad at Twitter.com.

Powell's POV: Shad missed the Smackdown prior to the Bragging Rights pay-per-view due to illness. There were reports that wrestlers were skeptical of the illness because it came on so quickly, but he posted a blog detailing his illness.

It's possible he was just joking when he made the swine flu tweet, but it's also possible that WWE officials weren't too happy with the original statement given that he's been so adamant in setting the record straight since then.
