WWE reportedly signs Alex Shelley, door open for WWE to sign other free agents with TNA background?

The Super Luchas website is reporting that WWE has signed former TNA wrestler Alex Shelley (a/k/a Patrick Martin). You can read their report at Superluchas.net. [Thanks to Dot Net Member Chris GST]

Powell's POV: If the report is accurate, then this is an interesting twist given that WWE was said to be shying away from signing TNA talent as a result of the ongoing legal dispute. If Shelley signed recently, it would seem to open the door to WWE signing rumored free agents such as Matt Morgan, Velvet Sky (assuming she hasn't re-signed with TNA already), etc. Ric Flair would still be a surprise if only because a WWE lawyer indicated in a court hearing that the company has no intention of signing Flair. It doesn't mean they won't sign him once the dispute is settled, but I'd be very surprised if they signed him while it's still in play.
