WWE announced the launch of the Superstars for Sandy Relief effort.. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, celebrities, and athletes are involved in the fundraising effort to help raise money for Sandy Relief.

"It's like a homecoming for us, and since there's still a lot of devastation, we felt the best thing we could do is reach out to not only our own superstars to our celebrity contacts and our sports contacts. There's a lot of people that are fans of the WWE in those worlds," Triple H said of WrestleMania.

"Our chairman, Vince McMahon, has a saying that everybody in this company ... their job at the end of the day is to put smiles on people's faces. It sounds corny and cliche, but it really is how we operate here." To read more about the fundraising event, visit TwinCities.com.

Powell's POV: The fundraising drive will give fans a chance to bid online beginning today and running through April 9 at Charitybuzz.com. The wrestling related auctions include attending a NASCAR event with John Cena, bowling with Ryback, spending a day on the set of Steve Austin's "Redneck Island" in Mexico, a tour of WWE Headquarters, spending a day on the set of the next WWE Studios film, a behind the scenes tour led by Kane at a WWE event, and more. WWE will surely raise a lot of money and generate feel good publicity heading into WrestleMania 29.
