New York Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson's passion for pro wrestling was mentioned during Major League Baseball All-Star game on Tuesday. Dot Net reader Dan Strauss passed along the following recap.

They showed clips of various players as they came to bat and Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson started his by talking about how he had been a pro wrestling fan since he was young.

He stated that Wrestlemania 23 in Detriot (Granderson used to play for the Tigers) is the best sporting event he's ever been to. After the clip, the announcers talked about the significance of that statement. They mentioned that Granderson plays for the Yankees and has gotten to participate in Yankee postseason baseball, yet considers Wrestlemania 23 as the best sporting event he's ever been to.

He mentioned Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, Junkyard Dog, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and Booker T (among others) as his favorite wrestlers. They had a graphic on the screen listing his "Favorite Wrestlers," not "entertainers." Glad to see WWE's push to take the word "wrestling" out of their sport hasn't completely hit the mainstream yet.

Powell's POV I caught the segment during the game last night. Granderson has appeared for TNA in the past and his obviously a big pro wrestling fan. Thanks to all of the readers who passed along recaps of the segment.
