WWE Chairman Vince McMahon appeared on Bloomberg Enterprise on Thursday and shot down the notion that the company has competitors. "Do we have a competitor?" Vince asked. He was then asked whether they have competitors. "No direct competitors, no," he said. Vince once again stated that they don't see themselves as a wrestling company, and doesn't feel that UFC is competition.

Vince was also asked about retirement. "This is not a job," he said. "I love what I do." He said he hopes there are people who will tell him he's slipping. "It would only be then that I would decide to go to a beach somewhere and sit back and discover that they're right, I am senile. Other than that, I intend to be, as they say, die in the chair. That's the way I would like to go." To view the video, visit Bloomberg.com.

Powell's POV: Paul Heyman was right when he predicted in a UK Sun blog that Vince has no plans to retire and control of the company could actually skip the Stephanie McMahon generation if Vince has his way. Vince also spoke about how the time is right for a WWE Network, but offered no new details.

It was comical to hear him talk about how fun he is to work for because he puts smiles on people's faces around the world. I can think of quite a few people who haven't shared Vince's assessment. Vince also said that while his daughter and son-in-law work in the company, they wouldn't be there if they didn't bring something to the table. Vince also addressed the Chris Benoit situation and essentially said it could happen in any line of work.
