WWE Smackdown rating: The first Smackdown of 2011 pops the show's best rating on Syfy

Friday's WWE Smackdown television show drew a 1.9 rating, which is up from the 1.4 rating that the New Year's Eve version of the show scored. This was the highest rating that Smackdown has drawn on Syfy.

Powell's POV: The previous high for Smackdown on Syfy occurred back on Oct. 15 when the show drew a 1.82 rating. For what it's worth, the live edition of the show drew a 2.53 rating on USA Network on December 21. WWE advertised a pair of matches and it was a wrestling-heavy broadcast, so hopefully they continue to use Raw to promote the show and deliver the type of content we saw on Friday.
