Friday's WWE Smackdown drew a 1.8 rating, down from the 1.86 rating from the previous week. Smackdown averaged 2.721 million viewers.
Powell's POV: Disney and Discovery programming drew 5.4 million and 4.8 million respectively, and an NBA game did 3.1 million viewers for ESPN on Friday night. Meanwhile, the Cotton Bowl delivered 11.2 million viewers for FOX that night.
For those curious, the 2012 BCS National Championship game drew 24.2 million viewers and it was the third lowest in the 14-year history of the Bowl Championship Series. Notre Dame vs. Alabama is expected to do stronger numbers. In other words, WWE has a strong challenge tonight.
