WWE Raw rating: The rating improves while facing NFL and MLB competition

Monday's WWE Raw drew a 3.1 rating, which is up from the 2.9 the show drew last week. The show averaged roughly 4.5 million viewers.

Powell's POV: WWE caught a break in a Titans vs. Jaguars Monday Night Football matchup that only fans of those teams or fantasy football owners could love. WWE won't be so lucky on Sunday night when Bragging Rights goes head-to-head with the Packers vs. Vikings game on NBC. That matchup set Monday Night Football ratings records for ESPN last season.

By the way, the NFL game drew a 7.2 overnight rating featuring two smaller market teams, whereas the big market New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers MLB playoff game scored a 6.5 overnight rating on TBS.
